Formal seated event comparing and contrasting old world wines with their new world counterparts. Name based on the Paris wine tasting of 1976 where California wines exceeded all expectation. Known as the Judgement of Paris.
The “Judgment of Charleston” will be a side-by-side tasting of the same or similar varietals from the Old World versus the New World of wine producing regions. Wine and all its character truly is about the soil and environment where it is grown, so this class will incorporate tasting, education and fun – because above all else – wine should be FUN !!!!
Lisa Hamilton, Fine Wine Portfolio Manager for Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits will be the presenter for this event. She is a certified sommelier (by the Court of Master Sommeliers) and has her 2nd level certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). She has been immersed in the wine and hospitality industry for over 25 years.
